Awards & Recognition


Following is a list of the awards available to students during the 2012/2013 school year:

1.     Scholastic Award.  At least a 90% or above for all academic courses taken for all four quarters.  For students K-5, there are eight core subjects measured: Handwriting, Language/Writing, Math, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Spelling and Bible.  For students in grades 6-12, all academic courses are taken into consideration. Note: Music, Art & PE are excluded.

2.     Principal’s List Quarters 1, 2, 3, 4.  At least a 90% average for all academic courses taken for subjects listed as per Scholastic Award criteria.

3.     Honor Roll Quarters 1, 2, 3, 4.  At least an 80% average for all academic courses taken for subjects listed as per Scholastic Award criteria.

4.     Perfect Attendance

5.     Bible Memory – 90% average or above on Bible memorization (at least 30 verses a year).

6.     Spelling – 90% average or above.

7.     Catechism – 90% average or above and on day required.

  • K – 2nd Catechism for Young Children, portioned as teacher assigned.
  • 3rd – 12th Westminster Shorter Catechism, portioned as teacher assigned.

8.     Penmanship – 90% average or above

9.     Reading Award – This goes along with the Book-It requirement.  Each month will have a required age-appropriate school reading.

10.  President’s Academic Award – 90% grade point average for

  • 6th grade, for three years (4th-6th grades)
  • 8th grade, for two years (7th-8th grades)
  • 12th grade, for four years (9th-12th grades)

11.  Physical Education   

  • Presidential Fitness
  • National Fitness
  • Athletic

12.  ACSI Competition awards

13.  Youth Expo participation awards

14.  Middle and High School Awards – Determined by teacher.

15.  Teacher Awards – At teacher’s discretion, additional recognition(s) may be awarded subject to Principal’s approval.
